The result was a good start in Josh Hepel’s Tennessee 7-6 opener. What to prepare for Encor?
The Tennessee program offers a great opportunity for a trip to the Florida Bowl – heck, maybe a sugar bowl – if everything falls in the direction of the Volks.
Beating rivals Alabama or Georgia requires Hercules’s effort, but the Wolves may be happy with the way they are breaking new coaches in Florida and LSU.
Here are their choices:
Park Rating Stand-
5. In Georgia
The game may not be a win-win, but – just for the sake of it – UT should show Hepel’s defensive style will ultimately challenge Georgia’s strong defense in the coming years.
4. At LSU
Can LSU win before Brian Kelly gets things done? This is a great opportunity to win the road. The game follows a weekend of UT 2-2, 3-1 or 4-0.
[ A BRIGHT ORANGE FUTURE?:Tennessee football is on recruiting hot streak, even if Josh Heupel can’t say it ]
3. South Carolina
Shane Bimmer is the point of comparison for Heupel, who are hired for teams in the same category during the same season. South Carolina and quarterback have improved their roster, including Spencer Ratler. Last year’s UTA 45-20 victory was a scam. Depending on the location of the game, UT could decide that Florida would have the option to go to the Florida Bowl (Citrus, Outboard, Gatore).
2. In Pittsburgh
Just like last season, this is a game of draw with an opponent, and it can be won. The match will pit Pete’s forwards against quarterback Kedon Slovis, a defender from South Cal, United’s Shaki crossing.
Walls must stop bleeding in the lopside race. Florida has won 16 of its last 17 matches. They beat Billy Napier’s Gators before they rolled.
Topmyer levels fall-
5. In South Carolina
Don’t expect Tennessee to have an easy time with Gamecocks, as it did last year. The arrival of Ratler will change South Carolina’s perspective, and Gamecocks has also improved their skills. This is a match between two ongoing programs.
4. At LSU
If you asked me on December 1, I would say Tennessee should win this game. But after LSU’s accumulated transfers, I will give the players a bit of a edge in this match, especially the location of the game. Because this game falls on the calendar – the Wolves will play Alabama next week – Tennessee could really benefit from that.
3. In Pittsburgh
Do not think that this is a victory for Tennessee just because Pittsburgh lost out on returning star Kenny Pickett. Honestly, I think Pete will have a favor at home. The Panthers are strong in defense and will bring back one of the country’s best receivers, Jordan Addison, with the newcomer Slovis. A win would allow Tennessee to enter Florida without losing and could set the stage for the big season.

2. With Kentucky
Long storytelling says Kentucky is not a big deal. Since 1985, Wild Cats have won Tennessee three times. But a closer look reveals two very different programs. Tennessee is 3-2 in the last five matches, including a 45-42 road win last season. Kentucky achieved some success in recruiting Tennessee hopes in the 2022 class. The victory here is ahead of the Tennessee by the SEC East Command.
If Tennessee can’t beat the Gets this time around, then when? UT competes with Alabama only in name and culture. On the field, Alabama is a one-sided affair that has not flourished for more than a decade. Tennessee must continue this competition in the same direction. In addition, an early victory over Florida would make Tennessee the strongest rival for Georgia in a matter of seconds.
