The Bloomer Salmon Farming Plant in Talcahuano received a delegation from Walmart from the United States, headed by the company’s Executive Vice President – Sourcing, Andrea Albright.
During this visit, executives were able to learn about the salmon farmer’s recent investments in automation, which have allowed Bloomer to increase productivity and efficiency across various processes.
The visit, one of the major players in the worldwide retail industry, is part of its aim to strengthen relationships with key suppliers that currently work with Walmart Inc. in more than one market.
Bloomer’s has been supplying Walmart and its subsidiary Sam’s Club with a variety of salmon products for more than 10 years, which is reaching its supermarkets in five countries this month.
Albright noted that “this visit to Bloomer allows us to participate in regeneration and sustainability projects between the two companies, to strengthen business ties and a sustainable vision of the future of business and industry.”
Gerardo Balbontin, Bloomer’s general manager, said that “It is very important for us to partner with companies like Walmart, to keep growing, and to build a relationship of trust between both parties. Also in the meeting, both companies had the opportunity to discuss their views on the Chilean salmon industry and growth opportunities for the future.
