Watch Mark Meadows Hit The Official Who Blocked GOP Subpoenas

MSNBC discovered a video clip of the then Republican Party. Mark Meadows attacks an official whom he accused of “blocking” congressional subpoenas issued during the Donald Trump administration.

On Friday, Meadows ignored a summons to appear on a House special committee investigating the Capitol riot.

In the summer of 2018, in an interview with Fox News, Meadows attacked then-Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein for ignoring subpoenas demanding information about an investigation by Special Adviser Robert Mueller into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election. Rosenstein has already provided thousands of pages of documents.

“It’s all about transparency so that the American people can judge for themselves,” Meadows said in a clip played on Friday on Deadline. “They can ignore Congress, but they cannot ignore the American people.”

“For nine months we asked for documents … And what we found not only ignored the subpoenas, but also concealed information. These efforts have been stopped, ”Meadows said.

Meadows (who later became Trump’s chief of staff), Rep. Jim Jordan, Ohio, and other Conservatives subsequently filed articles of impeachment against Rosenstein, although they later backed down.

Former White House strategist and longtime Trump ally Steve Bannon was indicted Friday on two counts of criminal contempt of Congress for failing to comply with a subpoena from a special House committee.

Meadows could be charged next.
