Minutes before midnight on Friday, Taylor Swift stunned the audience at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, where she began the three-night leg of her Eras tour, by welcoming rapper Ice Spice to the stage. Both ladies performed their collaborative new album “Karma” live for the first time.

Swift and Ice Spice hold hands as they sing along to the new release. “Thanks New Jersey, leave it for Ice Spice!” The midnight singer screamed as confetti fell around her at the end of the show, and the two hugged.

The two dropped their collaboration on Friday morning (that’s midnight, of course). Midnight’s (The Till Dawn Version) A reissue, it is one of three bonus cuts. The remix changes one of Swift’s original lines for the “Muncha” rapper to wrap up in all kinds of karma: “Karma is your ‘rebound’ text,” he raps. “Karma is a fire in your house / And it will appear without warning.”

Ice Spice was not the only special guest at Swift’s first three shows at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium: Swift’s longtime collaborator and Garden State’s Jack Antonoff appeared on stage during the surprise song segment to perform “Getaway Car”.

In an audio clip on Spotify, Swift said that Ice Spice’s management contacted her and said that she has been a fan of Swift since childhood (the rapper is 23 years old) and would love to work with Swift if possible. The feeling was mutual. Swift was listening to Ice Spice while preparing dates for the Eraze tour. It also added the rapper’s “In Ha Mood” to the playlist that concert-goers listen to before going on stage.

“I was listening to Ice Spice all the time,” Swift said. “Meeting her is special because I feel inspired by her. In my opinion, she is a person to watch. Judging by the way she works and how thoughtfully she approaches her life, she is my new favorite artist.” Kind and I am very proud to have them.” in her song

Ice Spice announced the collaboration with an Instagram post, in which she wrote, “thxx [Taylor] ilu to be the best man in the world.

Midnights (The Till Dawn Ed.) also included the songs “Different Hits” and a new version of “Snow on the Beach”, her collaboration with Lana Del Rey, which featured more of Del Rey’s vocals. “You heard it, we heard it: Lana and I went into the studio to record Lana on ‘Snow on the Beach,'” Swift said. Tweeted About why they cut the road again.

Swift’s Current Eras Tour is scheduled to run until August. In addition to a glowing review for Rolling Stone, Swift made headlines on tour by welcoming Aaron Dessner and Phoebe Bridgers onstage for a duet, shielding her fans from overzealous security guards, and performing in the rain. She was candid about how good the shows were to her.

Reflecting on Walk’s Philadelphia run, she tweeted: “Philadelphia is honestly a dream. Playing three nights at the stadium, I watched TV every Sunday while my dad watched Eagles games. The three most magical local shows a girl can watch.” wants.”
