The closing ceremony of IPL 2022 was a sight to behold as over 1 lakh people enthralled Bollywood star Ranveer Singh and music legend AR Rahman with their performances. While Ranveer wore his dancing shoes, Rahman brought some of his classics, including Hail yes again and again and prestigious I salute you, Mother, Rahman lit up the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad for more than 15 minutes with a lightning display for this edition’s IPL final.

The sight of the entire stadium gathering together and singing ‘Vande Mataram’ left goosebumps. Not only the audience, but the cricketers were also impressed by Rahman’s epic show. Cameras often turned to the teams to capture their reactions to the performance, and each time it happened, an invaluable response was seen. Yashasvi Jaiswal and RR support staff members were singing Vande Mataram along with Rahman and 1 lakh Ahmedabad loyalists.
However, one reaction that emerged was that of New Zealand pacer Trent Boult. Representing the Rajasthan Royals, Boult was captured by the camera in complete awe of the performance. Realizing he was appearing on the big screen, Boult quickly laughed it off as the performance progressed.
Just a few days back, Bolt’s touching gesture towards a young fan was in the news. After defeating Royal Challengers Bangalore in the second qualifier, RR won the hearts of a young fan by giving his jersey to Bolt. This season, Boult has been lower than expected in the list of leading wicket-takers. Boult was outside the top 10 with 16 wickets in 16 matches.
This was Boult’s first season with the Royals when the left-arm pacer had spent the last few seasons with Mumbai Indians. Boult was bought by the Royals after he was released by MI ahead of the IPL mega-auction in February 8 crores.
