IKEA, the important and famous home products store in Sweden, is about to open its doors in Colombia. Starting Thursday, September 28, 2023, IKEA, located in the Mallplaza, will open its doors to provide a new experience to all residents of Bogota in its 26,000 square meters.
Because of the size of the store and the variety of products on display, shopping at IKEA is an experience. So, we will tell you how to take advantage of the site in three simple steps.
How to buy at IKEA?
1- ‘Showcase’! As you walk around the third floor, you will discover and enjoy the different environments (living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms, offices, etc.) that IKEA has recreated in its ‘spaces of inspiration’. This way, you will have a deeper experience, which will allow you to know for sure what you want and why you want it.
2- Write the code and location of each product! In different areas of the store you will find a pencil, a shopping list and a measuring tape, your best ally at IKEA. Although there are products that can be obtained directly, the ideal is that you write down the code that appears on the label of each product that you want to buy. This way the exhibition is not complete and other buyers can enjoy it in the same way.
3- Collect your products! After knowing what to buy and writing your code in the shopping list, you should go to the first or second floor of the store. There, following the code and location instructions you wrote down, you can pick up your product and pay for it at traditional or self-pay checkouts.
With these steps you can get the most out of your time at IKEA. However, there are a couple of more important details on each product’s labeling that will be key when shopping.
IKEA labeling types
All IKEA labels have four elements in common: the name of the product, its usefulness, price and its characteristics. However, a fifth element distinguishes them: the four types of availability and location tags.
1- Accessories and decoration label: you can find this label on the decoration products found on the second floor.
2- Self-service label: this label will show the code, aisle and section of the products found on the first floor.
