The IMD said that due to severe rains in Gujarat, the cyclone has come in contact with the Western Disturbance due to the possibility of rains in several states including Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi. It is likely to move from Rajasthan in the northeast towards western Uttar Pradesh in the next two days.
At the same time, due to the impact of Cyclone Toute, the entire Uttarakhand also continues to rain. There is a possibility of rain till May 21 in the state. The Chamoli district continued to rain, while the high peaks of Hemkund Sahib and Badrinath Dham received snowfall. Snowfall has also been recorded at other places of elevation including Kedarnath Dham.
According to the India Meteorological Department, heavy rains are expected over Gujarat and many areas along the northern Maharashtra coast, while light to moderate rains may occur over Kerala, Konkan and Goa, parts of South Rajasthan in Madhya Pradesh. This can also increase people’s troubles.
