Weather today, Sunday, September 17th: “Storms” will flood almost the entire country

When you go out, it is better to have a good umbrella because today, September 17th, it will rain in most parts of the country due to cold front number 2 and the Mexican monsoon.

According to the National Meteorological Service (SMN) forecast, the frontal system will extend over the Mexican Northeast and the northern Gulf of Mexico, while the monsoon and low pressure channels will bring heavy rainfall to the northwest, west, center, south and southeast of the national territory, including the Valley of Mexico and the Yucatán Peninsula.

Which states will get rain this Sunday?

According to the agency, occasional very heavy rains are expected that day in Coahuila, Nuevo León, Tamaulipas, San Luis Potosí, Durango, Sinaloa, Nayarit, Jalisco, Michoacán, Guerrero, Oaxaca, Chiapas and Veracruz.

Intermittent showers with occasional heavy rainfall are also expected in Chihuahua, Zacatecas, Querétaro, Hidalgo, Puebla, the State of Mexico, Mexico City, Morelos, Colima, Tabasco, Campeche, Yucatán and Quintana Roo.

Shower intervals are again forecast in Aguascalientes, Guanajuato and Tlaxcala; and isolated showers in Baja California Sur.

Very heavy rains and showers will be accompanied by electric shocks and possible hail; and could “reduce visibility on road sections, lead to rises in river and stream levels, as well as landslides, flooding and flooding,” according to the SMN.

Although most of the country will be under water, some states in the northern states, the Mexican Pacific, the Gulf of Mexico and the Yucatan Peninsula will experience a very hot environment, with maximum temperatures exceeding 40°C in the areas of Sonora and Sinaloa.

Maximum temperatures of 35 to 40 °C: Baja California, Baja California Sur, Chihuahua, Coahuila, Nuevo Leon, Tamaulipas, San Luis Potosí, Veracruz, Nayarit, Jalisco, Colima, Michoacan, Guerrero, Oaxaca, Chiapas, Tabasco, Campeche, Yucatan and Quintana Roo.

Maximum temperatures of 30 to 35 °C: Durango, Zacatecas, Aguascalientes, Guanajuato, Querétaro, Hidalgo (north), Puebla (north and southwest) and Morelos.
