The meteorological department said heavy rains were expected in Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Orissa, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Maharashtra. Apart from this, red warnings have been issued for heavy rains in many parts of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh.

Light to moderate rainfall is possible over Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, parts of southern and eastern Rajasthan, Kerala, coastal Karnataka, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, parts of Andhra Pradesh, sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim.

Light showers are likely in Haryana, Delhi, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh and western parts of Rajasthan.
