The Federal Government headed by the president Andrés Manuel López Obrador implements many programs for the welfare of the population, and one of them focuses on one of the most vulnerable sectors, the elderly.

However, the federal president has already announced that in the year 2024, the amount to be delivered will increase by 20 percent, which means that next year the beneficiaries will receive 6,000 pesos every two months.
WHO CAN ACCESS THE WELFARE PENSION?
All people over 65 years of age in our country have the right to be a beneficiary of this federal program, they just need to register in the offices or welfare module in front of a national servant.
REQUIREMENTS FOR WELFARE PENSION
- Be 65 years or older
- Birth certificate or nationalization document
- Official identification with a valid photo (INE passport or card Inapam)
- Unique Population Registry Code (curp)
- Proof of address not older than 6 months (water or electricity bill)

The change seeks to change the minimum age to be a beneficiary of the program, instead of 65 years, it is intended that at 60 you can already access this federal support.
The coordinator of PRI members in the lower house of the Congress of the Union, Rubén Moreira, commented that the reduction of the age to 60 years is a possible budget, it is only necessary to wait for the proposal to be approved and then published in the Official Gazette of the Nation (DOF), will be implemented.
It should be noted that this proposal launched by the tricolor deputies has not yet been debated by the commissions, so the change may not be immediate.
