New Delhi: In the midst of the rising havoc of Corona, political turmoil is in full swing for the assembly elections in West Bengal. Today is the last day of campaigning for the sixth phase in West Bengal. In the sixth phase, voting will be held on April 22 on 43 seats in four districts of the state. In fact, due to the rapid transition of Corona, the Election Commission has given instructions to stop the election campaign 72 hours in advance. Let us tell you that in the state till now, voting has been done in 180 seats in five phases. Voting for 114 seats is yet to take place in the remaining three phases.
In the sixth phase, voting is to be held on April 22 (Thursday) in 43 seats in four districts of the state on April 22. Voting will be held in 17 seats of North 24 Parganas district, 9 in Nadia, 8 in East Burdwan and 9 seats in Uttar Dinajpur on 22 April. There are 306 candidates in the fray in this phase. 10897 polling booths have been set up to ensure proper and peaceful conduct of elections. Along with the Corona Protocol, stringent security arrangements are being made.
Voting on 43 seats in sixth phase
In this phase Bagda, Bangaon North, Bangaon South, Gaighata, Swaroopnagar, Baduria, Habra, Ashoknagar, Amadanga, Bijpur, Naihati, Bhatpada, Jagdal, Noapada, Barrackpore, Kharadah, Damdam North, Karimpur, Tehatta, Palashipada, Kaliganj, Nakasipada, Voting will be held in Chapra, Krishnanagar North, Navadweep, Krishnanagar South, Bhatar, East East South, East North, Katwa, Ketugram, Mangalkot, Ausagram, Galasi, Chopra, Islampur, Gwalpokhar, Chakulia, Karanadighi, Hemtabad, Kaliaganj, Rajganj and Etahar Assembly.
Sixth Stage Leading Candidates
Many veteran leaders are in the fray in this phase. The most important seat in this is considered to be Krishnanagar North, from where BJP’s National Vice President Mukul Rai is in the fray. Along with this, Shubhranshu Rai from Bijpur, Pawan Singh from Bhatpada, Arindam Bhattacharya from Jagdal, Sunil Singh from Noapada, Sheelbhadra Dutta from Khadda are trying. At the same time, 5 ministers of the state are also involved in this phase. These include Mohammad Ghulam Rabbani from Gwalpokhar, Ujjwal Biswas from Krishnanagar South, Jyotipriya Mallik from Habra, Chandrima Bhattacharya from Dum Dum North, Swapan Devnath from East East. Along with this, actress Kaushani Mukherjee from Krishnanagar North, Partha Bhowmik from Naihati, Raj Chakraborty from Barrackpore are also included.
