Voting for the 5th phase of Bengal assembly elections is going on There is a great enthusiasm among the people about this. There are long queues of voters outside the polling booth.

North Bengal has 13 seats in this phase which is seen as a BJP stronghold. On the other hand, the influence of Trinamool Congress on the seats of South Bengal is strong. The CPM can also show strength in some seats in South Bengal, despite its weak dominance in the state.

The seats to be voted on today are important for the Trinamool Congress, and more special for the BJP. If we look at the results of these 45 assembly seats in six districts, it would be seen that the Trinamool Congress won 33 seats, the Congress five, the Left Front four and the Gorkha Janmukti Morcha of Darjeeling won three. BJP did not even open an account in these areas. But, just three years after this election, the BJP collected such a coin that it was ahead of the Trinamool Congress in getting the vote percentage.
