What does Sadio Mane bring to Bayern Munich? Five Questions with the Liverpool Expert

No matter how pessimistic you are, you can’t deny that Bayern Munich has signed a blockbuster this summer. In Liverpool winger Sadio Mane, the club has achieved a world-class forward who has been consistently performing at the top level for years. After winning the Premier League, the Champions League and the Africa Cup of Nations, Sadio Mane arrived in Munich with possibly the strongest CV of any of our recent signings.

Now, being Bayern fans, most of us don’t follow the LFC on a regular basis, so we are absolutely not qualified to talk about what this transfer brings to the table. Thank you, Noel Chomin of liverpool offside Was on hand to answer a few questions for us. Here’s what he had to say…

Jurgen Klopp apparently used Sadio Mane as False-9 for most of last season. Can you tell how he acted in that role?

Mane started last season on the left wing where he spent most of his six seasons at Liverpool, but after the Africa Cup of Nations with the arrival of Luis Diaz, Roberto Firmino injured, and Diogo Jota’s link- The game was not level up, Mane almost accidentally ended up on the striker. Or at least that’s how it felt, a shoulder and gamble from Jürgen Klopp for trying something different. And it worked.

Mane has always been an underrated playwright and had the best passing range of Liverpool’s attackers even before going into the middle. There are plenty of examples of Thiago interchanging with his left back, falling deeply on his right foot, and switching plays or sending the ball down the channels. They also have first touch and close controls.

In the final few months of his final season at Anfield, Mane also demonstrated that he could land in crowded areas in the middle of the pitch and perform link-up play in much the same way that Firmino had done in the past, a Was pleasantly surprised and one many people think he has a future in this position with us.

Of course that didn’t turn out to be the case and instead we’ve gone and signed a player who looks a little more like, well, Lewandowski in Darwin Nunez.

I don’t know in which direction Bayern may have tactfully headed, but some may have chosen to play him as a false nine before playing it, it seems clear in retrospect that Firmino in play and training The result of years working with Mane internally is how to play that role at a high level.

Why did Liverpool fail to extend Sadio Mane’s contract? Was it his wage demand, his age or something else?

It is impossible to answer officially from the outside.

What is known is that every other important Liverpool player has been given a new contract or in talks at some point over the past two years, but we haven’t heard anything about Mane in that time. I suspect that if there was a will on the part of the player, this would not have happened.

Can you guess Mane’s form and her trajectory over the years?

Up until the Africa Cup of Nations, the narrative was that Mane’s form had declined somewhat over the past few seasons, perhaps due to the explosive first leg loss that can be seen in any highlight reel from his first few seasons. club.

Whether that narrative was accurate or the result of opponents becoming increasingly deep-seated and leaving less room for Liverpool I would leave for others to debate, but it did exist.

How is Sadio Mane’s fitness record generally? Have they had any major problems in the past?

He doesn’t get injured and he doesn’t stop working. While there was certainly a conversation about the effectiveness of a perceived fall on the left wing to advance center after AFCoN, but I’m not sure I can actually remember him going through an injury. Remembering the game.

How do you feel about the reported transfer fee? Are Liverpool fans satisfied? What will this departure mean for the LFC?

Going into the final year of his deal the fee is fine for the 30-year-old who wants to leave, although whatever it is Lewandowski – a player who will overtake Mane in recent seasons, but who is also three years old – Goes to wish add color to it. There is certainly a sense of sadness as to how most fans feel, but there is also a realization that everything is over in football and we are probably a year or two ago when one of the famous Front Three Would have been sold out if it weren’t for the covid affecting football finances.

It’s sad to see one of the club’s greatest forwards of all time, but the aging reality is that putting Salah, Firmino and Mane together on huge wages would have been a recipe for disaster that would be a disaster for a club that can’t live in a state. Can’t afford not to own. A refresh has been on the cards for a while now, and adding Nunez and Diaz to the mix while Mane leaves is just the making of a good squad, even if it’s not fun to see Sadio go emotionally.
