WhatsApp account lock with fingerprint
It should be noted that this function can be implemented on both Android and iOS devices without the need to download external applications for the messaging service.
With this in mind, a series of simple steps should be followed:
- Verify that there are no pending updates for WhatsApp in the Google Play or App Store.
- Enter “Settings” on Android or “Settings” on iOS.
- Click on “Privacy” and then click on “Fingerprint Lock”.
- Activate the option “Unlock with fingerprint” to select the lock time: “Immediately”, “After 1 minute” or “After 30 minutes”.
- If you want more privacy, you should disable the “Show content in previews (…)” switch.
Just as there is a possibility for users of the application to have access to their accounts, they can also prevent chats from being blocked:
- Open the beta version of WhatsApp on your iOS or Android device. If you don’t already have access to the beta version, you can get it by following the link in the instructions.
- In the “Chats” tab, you’ll see a folder called “Locked Chats” at the top. Press it.
- You will be asked to use your fingerprint, pattern, Face ID recognition or password, depending on the unlock type you have set up on your device.
- Access the individual or group chat you want to unlock and select its name.
- Several conversation options will appear. Scroll down and tap on the “Chat Block” section.
- Now turn off the switch that says “Lock this chat with fingerprint”.
- Add the unlock method of your choice.
- Ready! The conversation will be removed from the “Blocked Chats” folder.
With these simple steps, you will be able to prevent your chats from being blocked and maintain instant access to all your conversations. Remember that this feature is only available in the beta version of WhatsApp, so you may experience changes and updates as it is implemented in the stable version.
