Starting in 2023, the new Lamborghini Huracán Sterrato will land on the market. Today we will spend on it, its benefits, details and its own character. Join us.
Lamborghini is a new creation, without exaggeration, without additives, without pomp, milestone and challenge to factory tradition. We are ahead of the first Off-Road, on the line, in the entire history. Off-road Lamborghini is a concept that, so new, sounds amazing.
The new Huracán was born as an idea during the transition period of Lamborghini, explained in this section. As it has officially announced, Lambo is gradually saying goodbye to its 100% combustion supercars. For example: the last Aventador -Aventador Ultima- is already a thing and sold.
How motorized the vehicle looks like, one more element. It is not. Motorization is part of the identity and constitutive of factory racing, and even more so if we are talking about Lamborghini and its 12-cylinder rear engines. Let’s do something in memory to understand the magnitude of this change.
Lamborghini was born and established as a manufacturer of hybrid sports cars with a cool city essence. Said route, opened by the Corvette, by the Aston Martin DB5, by the Jaguar E-Type, would be the arena that would make the Lamborghini garden firm, the desired firm.
The V12 and V10 engines were “created” in the Lamborghini concept. For this reason, before the new paradigm of electrification and hybridization of propulsion, the firm is forced to adapt. Otherwise, the famous and controversial anti-emission and noise laws would leave the firm with one foot outside the market.
And Lamborghini, as you can see, does not plan to stop being a beacon in the industry. In this context, Lambo decided to take the risk of going off-road for the first time in its history. Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Storm Sterrato.
Storms between earth, snow and sand
Storm Sterrato is supposed to unite two worlds that were previously separated. Aggressive supercars and great displacement with Off-Road SUVs with significant traction and takeoff from the ground. That’s where Lamborghini’s expectations went in 2019 when the first Sterrato concept prototype was presented.
According to the firm itself, this car is “the first production road supercar in history.” The Huracán Sterrato uses the basic mechanical and technical development of the Uri model, especially in its “mode” of driving, where suspension and traction are very important. For example the body of the new Huracán Sterrato stands at 44 mm. higher than the Huracán EVO.
Design lines of the Huracán Sterrato
The new Huracán Road is based on the traditional Huracán. No major changes to it. Its length is 4,525 mm, height 1,248 mm, width 1,956. As you can see, it is still a compact car that does not exceed five meters in length. Its total weight: 1,470 kilos.
On the ground, as we mentioned, they are 44 millimeters higher than the traditional Huracán. This should ensure a wide travel of the suspension and thus harmoniously absorb the harshness of the terrain. Again, the Sterrato widens its tracks by 30 mm at the front and 34 mm at the rear.
Its wheels are 19 inches thicker than the original version. According to the strict design, the two led lights in the front is the most solid change in the aesthetics of the Sterrati, giving it a more aggressive image. The modifications are completed: the reinforcement in the defenders, the roof bars and the air intake between the rear part above the engine.
Motorisation of Storm Sterrato
Motorization Huracán Sterrato aspires to the sporty avant-garde. It has a 10-cylinder engine placed in V, central, rear and longitudinal, with a displacement of 5.2 liters. This is the same engine used by Lambo in the Huracán EVO. 610 HP of total power at 8,000 rpm and 565 Nm of maximum torque at 6,500 rpm.
This combination allows the sports car to go from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds, while its top speed is electrically limited to 260 km/h. Without the speed limit, the Huracán Sterrato would be around 320 km/h.
One of Lamborghini’s distinguishing features, especially its Urus model and the recent Huracán Sterrato, is its steering options. “Lamborghini Integrated Vehicle Dynamics” shown with settings in STREET and SPORT mode. And for the first time, the Huracán will have a GAME driving mode.
In “SPORT” driving, the suspension system softens to adapt more effectively to rough terrains of dirt, grass, snow or grass. At the same time, braking safety is increased because, in uneven areas, the maximum grip conditions are lower.
Market Price Storm Starrats
The Huracán Sterrato market, according to Lamborghini USA official sources, starts at US$267,000.
So it is not necessary to distinguish what is new about the new Huracán Sterrato, when in the very identity of this supercar. I can’t wait for the test session. Next time friends.
