(Agraria.pe) The distribution of Peruvian Vaccinia throughout the world is facilitated by large maritime transport networks. The Union of Proarándanos then highlighted what were the key port destinations for the world trade berry in the recent 2022-23 campaign, and how its participation in the business has evolved.
In the northern region of North America, the main shipping point was the port of Philadelphia (Pennsylvania), located on the East Coast, and which 60% of the entire nation had to sail to. In second place was the port of Hueneme (California), which grew by 54% and covered 24% of the shares. Meanwhile, the third place is taken by the port of Miami (Florida), with an 11% participation and an increase of 58% in Peruvian production.
In the case of Europe, the most famous port of Rotterdam (the Netherlands) was the main one, with 59% of the total Peruvian shipping to the Old Continent, with an increase of 53%. This was followed by the port of Vlissigen (Nederlands) with a 20% share and a 7% increase; and Dover (England), with 9% participation and a 4% drop compared to last time.
To the Asian giant, the list of major ports of Peruvian blueberries led by Shanghai, which had a significant increase of 94% in the last campaign and accounted for 44% of the total. Second, the port of Shenzhen had a 15% decrease and a share of 38%; while the port of Shekou has also grown significantly by 169% and contracted 12% of Peruvian ships.
Proarándanos also reported that, in terms of other destinations, the main ports were Toronto, Canada (with a 20% share); Kaohsiung, Taiwan (15%); Keelung, Taiwan (9%); Hong Kong (9%); Bangkok Airport, Thailand (8%); and others with 39%.
