Bronnie James is one step closer to the NBA, after signing his decision to play basketball at the University of Southern California.
Ranked as the 21st player in the high school class of 2023 by 247Sports, James looks set to make an immediate impact on the Trojans during his freshman season, leading many to speculate about his future in the NBA.
Of course, it also helps that James is the son of LeBron James, the leading scorer in NBA history, who has long expressed a desire to play with his son before the end of his career.
Now that LeBron James is considering retirement, it’s worth reconsidering how soon his son Bronnie could join the NBA ranks.
When could Bronny James be in the NBA?

Under the collective bargaining agreement between the NBA and the Players Association, a player must be at least 19 years old in the calendar year in which the draft is held and at least one year has passed since graduating from school.
As a 2023 high school graduate, Broni will have to wait until 2024 to enter the NBA Draft.
