When Madhuri Dixit Said She Would Never Marry Anil Kapoor: ‘He’s Hypersensitive, I Want My Husband To Be Cool’

Actress Madhuri Dixit made her acting debut in the 1984 film Abodh and went on to work with several popular personalities from the industry, including Anil Kapoor. Madhuri and Anil Kapoor first worked together in director Prayag Raj’s film Hifazat. Later he appeared in many hit movies like Tezaab, Beta, Khel, Parinda and more. They were last seen together in Total Dhamaal which released in 2019.

In 1989, when Madhuri was asked if she would marry her co-star Anil Kapoor, she told Movie Magazine, “No! I wouldn’t marry someone like her. For one thing, she’s a lot more sensitive.” “I would like my husband to remain calm. As far as Anil is concerned, I have done many films with him, so I am comfortable with him. I can even joke about our alleged affair with him.”

Anil Kapoor tied the knot with Sunita Kapoor in 1984. The couple are parents to their three children, Sonam Kapoor, Rhea Kapoor and Harshvardhan Kapoor. Anil is also soon going to be a grandfather as Sonam is expecting her first child with husband Anand Ahuja. Madhuri, on the other hand, married Dr. Sriram Nene on October 17, 1999. She moved to the US for a few years after her marriage, but came back to India in 2011. They have two sons, Arin and Ryan.

Madhuri was last seen in Netflix’s The Fame Game. Reportedly, she will next be seen as a judge in the popular dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 10 opposite Karan Johar. She was earlier a part of the same show till 2014.
