At the rendezvous with Simi Garewal, actors Govinda and Rakesh Roshan were once asked to choose a man from ‘anywhere in the world’ to go on a date. He chose Rekha. Actresses Kareena Kapoor and Ameesha Patel also chose the same person for their dates – politician Rahul Gandhi. On Sunday, celebrity talk show host, veteran actor Simi Garewal shared a video compilation featuring Kareena, Ameesha, Govinda, Rakesh as well as actors Priyanka Chopra and Jackie Shroff. Sharing the video of her old interview, Simi captioned her Instagram post as, “My fantasy date! #recycle.” In the clip, Simi, who was in her signature all-white outfit, asked her celebrity guests the same question: “If you could choose one person to go on a date with, from anywhere in the world, So who would that be?”
Sanjay Leela Bhansali answered Simi’s question by choosing actress Madhuri Dixit. “She’s absolutely charming,” said the filmmaker. Actor Jackie Shroff chose Miss Universe 1994 and actor Sushmita Sen. When Simi asked his wife Ayesha Shroff for a response on his reply, Ayesha laughed, and said that she did not mind. However, Jackie insists that his wife would tease him later by saying, “Oh, you’ve always wanted to do this.”
When asked who he wants to take on a date, actor Govinda said, “Main bhi big fan hoon Rekha ji ka (I am a huge fan of Rekha ji)”. When informed by the host that he would have a ‘confrontation with Rakesh Roshan’ as he had also chosen Rekha for his dream date, Govinda joked about the filmmaker’s bald head. “Ab to wahi mile (Now, I will meet him only),” said Govinda, pretending to move his fingers through his hair.
When asked who she would choose, Priyanka Chopra chose Prince William of the British royal family. “I would like to go on a date with him. I would really like to know what it is like to be 23 years old royalty,” said Priyanka.
Meanwhile, Kareena said that she “didn’t feel like knowing Rahul Gandhi”, even though “it was controversial”. Actress Ameesha Patel, who made her acting debut around the same time as Kareena, also said that the ‘only person’ she would like to date would be Rahul Gandhi, as he would be ‘powerful’. Responding to Simi’s post, choreographer and filmmaker Farah Khan wrote, “Faab.”
