Google Earthquake Alert
This is Google’s earthquake alert, a warning system provided by the company to a group of users.
The main goal of the tool is be warned about slight tremors and provide additional information about a particular event.
the alert will come seconds before the earthquake on your cellphone although it was only sent to users “during an earthquake of magnitude 4.5 or greater.”
On which phones can I activate the earthquake alert?
Google provides this free system only as a warning to users who there are cell phones with Android operating system.
In this case, people with this type of device should make sure they are connected to Wi-Fi or have mobile data available.
In this way, they must complete the following steps:
- Open the configuration application on the respective cell phone.
- Click on “Safety and Emergency” and then on “Earthquake Alerts.”
- If you can’t find the previous option, you can go to “Location” and then “Advanced”.
- In the option “Earthquake Alerts” you need to activate the alerts that you can receive later.
