Real Madrid defeated Real Sociedad 2-1 at home and remains at the top of the league on the fifth day of the championship.
The visit went ahead with a goal from Ander Barrenetxea (5), but Fede Valverde equalized (46) and Joselu scored the second (60), marking the white team’s fifth win in five games before facing Unión Berlin on Wednesday received in the Champions League.
The victory allows the Meringues to retain their lead in LaLiga, which Barcelona temporarily took away from them with their 5-0 win over Betis on Saturday.

The locals kept Real Sociedad away from their goal, who found it more difficult to reach Kepa’s domain due to heavy Merengue pressure.
Then Joselu, who had hit the crossbar in the first half, appeared and headed Fran García’s cross from the left into the goal (60′).
Trailing on the scoreboard, Real Sociedad renewed their attack to move forward, but couldn’t find a way to beat a Real Madrid team that focused more on defense to achieve victory in the end.
