The elected governor of the State of Mexico, Delfina Gómez, announced this to the members of her Cabinet on Wednesday, September 13, reporting that the new head of the Ministry of Health will be Macarena Montoya Olvera, a graduate of the Medical Surgery National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and has extensive experience in the health sector.
Who is Macarena Montoya Olvera, the new head of the Ministry of Health?
She completed her studies in medical surgery at UNAM, where she was awarded the Gustavo Baz Prada Medal. He completed a specialty in rehabilitation medicine at the 20 de Noviembre National Medical Center of the ISSSTE.
He also completed the master’s degree in health management at the Universidad del Valle de México with distinction. He studied the postgraduate course “Clinical Application of Electrodiagnostics”, also at UNAM, and is currently pursuing a doctorate in “Senior Management”.
He has been in charge of the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Service of the Electromyography Department of the National Medical Center since November 20, specifically the Spinal Rehabilitation, Peripheral Nervous System Diseases, Prosthetics and Orthotics clinics.
She is also an associate professor in the field of rehabilitation medicine at UNAM and advises theses for the “Specialist in Rehabilitation Medicine” degree. He is also a Senior Inspector focusing on quality as per ISO 9001 standard trained at National Polytechnic Institute (IPN).
