Will Trump’s impeachment affect his aspirations to return to the White House?

Donald Trump and his lawyers have been anticipating it for weeks, but it wasn’t until this Thursday that the former president of the United States made history again with the first occupant of the White House to face criminal charges after a grand jury in New York indicted him for his role as a porn actress to buy silence in in what is known as the “Stormy Daniels Case.”

A few minutes after the decision of the grand jury, Donald Trump published a statement in which he insisted that he was the victim of a “witch hunt” and immediately afterwards he sent a message on the social network Social Truth, which attributed his accusation “It. an attack on our country has never been seen on a scale (…) the United States of America United is now a third country in the world, a nation in serious decline.”

After the accusation, many unknown truths are now open. First: to know what crimes the previous president was accused of. Although the alleged donation is being investigated, this will not be known until the text approved by the judges is released.

Another question that needs to be answered is whether Donald Trump has been arrested or, on the contrary, will turn himself in. According to CNN sources, the former president of the United States will appear in Manhattan once the accusations are made and will give a speech after the preliminary hearing.

The last important question that needs to be answered is whether the impeachment of Donald Trump in the “Stormy Daniels Case” will affect his aspirations to become the candidate of the Republican Party to occupy the White House in the next presidential elections.

Can Donald Trump be the candidate if he is caught?

The possibility that Donald Trump may finally be arrested has raised many questions about whether this fact could affect his presidential aspirations. Five months ago, from his Florida home, Trump made public his intention to return to the White House if the Republican Party chose him as its candidate.

By law, there would be no obstacle for Trump to occupy the Oval Office again. In the United States there is no specific legislation that prevents a convicted or incarcerated candidate from running for President of the United States of America. It is another thing to punish voters for rejection while winning primaries.

The Constitution of the United States of America establishes only three requirements to be a president: the aspiring person must be a natural citizen of the country; who is at least 35 years old, and who has resided in the US for at least 14 years.

The biggest hurdle Donald Trump is nervous about right now is that the actual date of the trial is not known, at least for the time being. Typically, in New York, it can take a year to go from indictment to trial in a criminal case like this.

However, the “Stormy Daniels Case” is not a typical case, and more than likely it will be time. At the moment, the lawyers of Donald Trump’s legal writers announced that they would appeal the crime: “Tumpus has not committed any crime. We will vigorously challenge this political accusation in court,” Susan Necheles and Joseph Tacopina declared.
