MAHINDRA XUV.E8 Electric SUV
The first Mahindra Born electric model to go into production will be the XUV.e8. It is scheduled to launch in the country in December 2024. The new Mahindra XUV.e8 is based on the INGLO platform, which is a Born Electric platform. It will be a three-row SUV similar to the Mahindra XUV700.
However, Mahindra has made some changes to differentiate it from the XUV700. It will come with an EV-like front with a square-shaped LED light bar and close-off front grille. At the front, there are bumper mounted headlamps and a sculpted bonnet. The rear looks similar to the XUV700 but gets a redesigned bumper.
The new Mahindra XUV.e8 measures 4,740 mm long, 1,900 mm wide and 1,760 mm tall with a wheelbase of 2,762 mm. It is about 45mm longer, 10mm wider and 5mm longer than the XUV700 and has a 7mm longer wheelbase. The new XUV.e8 electric SUV will feature an all-wheel drive system and 80kWh battery pack. The company claims a power output of 230hp to 350hp.
The new XUV.e9 electric SUV will be launched by April 2025. It will be an all-new electric model, which comes with a coupe design. The Mahindra XUV.e9 electric SUV will measure 4,790mm in length, 1,905mm in width and 1,690mm in height. It will be a 5-seater model and will come with a wheelbase of 2,775mm.
The design of the new XUV.e9 will be similar to the XUV Aero concept. It will get LED lighting elements from the XUV.e8, bumper-mounted headlamps. It has a coupe-like design at the rear with a flat tail section. The battery pack and electric motors may be shared with the electric XUV.e8.
