A security camera recorded the tragic accident that happened on Sunday morning at Carrera 27 along Calle 13 in Bucaramanga. There, a motorcyclist was killed and another seriously injured while they were racing illegally.
The race to see who went faster would lead to the death of Yonaton Felipe Hernandez Moreno, a 24-year-old man who died in a tragic traffic accident along 12th Street in the University neighborhood on Saturday night in the race for the 27th happened.
The official information we have about his death is that he was riding an Auteco Pulsar NS200 with the CGJ-28D license plate, owned by his sister, and got into an accident with another motorcyclist , who was driving a motorcycle without a license plate. At approximately 11:10 p.m., two motorcyclists were ‘picking’ on Race 27 between Streets 11 and 12, in a north-south direction, according to reports from authorities. There they collide and lose control of the vehicles crashing into the divider. In place, Yonatan Felipe loses his life.
A few minutes after the accident, a relative who was near the spot reached and recognized him. Police cordoned off the site while the Transit Directorate removed the bodies left on a public road and immobilized the motorcycles.
“The two vehicles were competing at high speed, the victim was thrown into the divider, hit a tree on the head and died on the spot due to head injuries. The other was taken to La Merced clinic where he remains stable,” said Yesid Villamizar, a transit agent.
According to an eyewitness, young people were drinking in an establishment near Bolivar Horse, and Diego Andrés, who was wounded, challenged Yonatan to a pique.
“He started talking about motorcycles, told her that Yonton didn’t run at all, and they challenged each other. The loser had to pay for a round of beer,” said the witness.
The victim was unmarried, graduated from high school and was born in the city of Tunja. The other motorcyclist is from San Alberto, Cesar, and is stable.
