Online game Wordle has taken social media by storm in the past few days, but the game is designed as a web app. There is no official Wordal app for Android, so don’t fall for the clones invading the Play Store.
Wordle, a word-guessing game that has recently exploded in popularity, is available in only one place – powerlanguage.co.uk/wordle. This is the only official place to play the hit game, as there is no official mobile app for Wordle on Android or iOS.
However, after the massive success of the game, a lot of bad actors are looking to get rid of the trend quickly. On iOS, this includes clones that ask users to pay a subscription to play as our partners. 9to5Mac reports, but so far things seem a little less dire on Android.
The most awesome Wordle clone on Android is named “Vordal – Daily Word Challenge” and it apparently was quick to release, but has already garnered over 1,000 downloads in the past few days. Some innocent apps also got caught in this crossfire. “Word 2″ and Wordle” both existed before the release of the new game, but have been receiving negative reviews in recent days due to confusion.
It’s certainly unfortunate that there’s no official way to play Wordle through the Android app, but it’s fine to play it via the web. You can also easily place a shortcut to the game on your homescreen through the Chrome browser.
You will not find the official app here This is a blatant, money grabbing clone This app has been around for a year, but is being reviewed-bombed
