World’s largest mini meeting

Mini has enjoyed cult status among its fans for decades – particularly in the United States. After a break due to Corona, the nationwide fan meeting “Mini Takes the States” took place again this summer. Blick was part of a one-of-a-kind nine-day road trip.

Mini cult. Introduced 63 years ago, the British city car had become a lifestyle vehicle from the very beginning. From royals to Hollywood greats and musical heroes – who made their own cruises through London and the rest of Europe in minis. And there’s even a mini-community in the United States, though in terms of mobility everything revolves around Teslas, pickups and fat SUVs.

But: the American community doesn’t like the original, but the Maxi successor that has been offered by BMW for 21 years – you can almost hide the original ancestor in the current Mini. This does not dampen the enthusiasm. Mini Guys in North America had to wait again this summer for four years before the popular “Mini Takes the States” meeting after it was canceled in 2020 due to the coronavirus.
