Money in the Bank will go live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas tonight and will crown the 2022 Mr and Miss Money in the Bank. Several championship matches are also on the line which could have huge implications for the upcoming SummerSlam event.
Given that Roman Reigns is not currently scheduled to be a part of the show, the premium live event lacks star power. As such, we could see some surprising returns.
The following list looks at only six last-minute predictions ahead of tonight’s highly anticipated event.
#6 Ronda Rousey forces Natalya out
Ronda Rousey will defend her SmackDown Women’s Championship against Natalya at Money in the Bank this weekend. The feud between the two women has become quite private in recent weeks.
Natalya is obsessed with the fact that Rousey is now a mother and claims it makes her less of a champion. The former UFC fighter has everything to prove this weekend as he goes up against the woman who trained him to compete in WWE.
It is unlikely that Natty will be able to take Rousey out. Also, with a feud between Bianca Belair and Ronda, the result here is already pretty clear.
#5 Bianca Belair beat Carmella with the help of Gelina Vega
Bianca Belair was originally set to fight Rhea Ripley at Money in the Bank, but The Nightmare was not cleared for the match, so Carmella stepped in instead. Carmella has had her fair share of issues and has recently been part of a story with former best friend Zelina Vega.
Vega recently had surgery and is teasing a return, which could come later this week if she decides to cost Carmella the championship. This could lead to a fight between the two women going to SummerSlam.
The Women’s Division currently has multiple storylines and, if handled properly, could be added to the cards in The Biggest Party of the Summer.
#4 The Usos suffered a fall in Street Profit
The recent tension between The Street Profits has been remarkable and it is clear that a defeat this weekend will mark the end of their run as a team. Montez Ford is set to become a star and sadly cannot take Angelo Dawkins with him.
The Usos have become one of the biggest tag teams in the business and it is hard to see The Street Profits beating the race they are on. If The Street Profit falls short this weekend, it’s likely their union will explode. This will enable Ford to finally take a step towards the single push it is destined for.
#3 Theory costs John Cena the United States Championship
Roman Reigns is usually the star attraction at WWE premium live events, but with both he and Brock Lesnar not attending MITB, the company would like to avoid making the same mistake they made at Hell in a Cell.
One person who can make an impact tonight is John Cena. He’s been courting Theory for weeks and the two guys even had a backstage segment on Raw last week. No future matches were announced, which suggests Cena will make another return to the company before SummerSlam.
It could happen this weekend at Money in the Bank and he could Theory be the man to cost him his United States Championship when he takes on Bobby Lashley.
#2 Bray Wyatt returns to WWE as an entry in the Money in the Bank ladder match
Bray Wyatt has been in the limelight since his surprise release last year. However, recent rumors suggest that the star may be looking to return to the ring. If reports are to be believed, Wyatt and WWE didn’t have a good working relationship, but he is one of the most creative minds in the business and the company is missing him a lot.
There are currently only seven participants in the Money in the Bank ladder match, the same amount that was sent to the Money in the Bank ring in 2019 after Zayn was eliminated. What if history repeats itself and a surprise addition is made to the ladder match that will then allow Wyatt to make a successful comeback?
#1 Bailey returns and joins Women’s Money in the Bank
Bailey has been out of action for nearly a year after suffering a torn ACL in the build-up to last year’s Money in the Bank event. She has since had surgery and reports claim she is now ready for her return, and the company is trying to find a way to connect her to a suitable story.
If the Surprise Edition does not take place in the Men’s Money in the Bank ladder match, someone may be ejected from the Women’s match, with Bayley taking their place. The role model is a former Money in the Bank winner and this weekend would be the perfect time for her to return.
Even if she does return, Bayley is unlikely to win the match. Instead, it is assumed that Liv Morgan will emerge victorious and begin the final underdog story.
