The elected Mayor of Barranquilla, Alex Char announced this Tuesday that the former Secretary of the Government of the District and Secretary of the Interior of Atlántico, Yes Turbay He is your Secretary of Security, starting next 1st. from January.
“Security is a priority of our administration! The Office for Citizen Security and Coexistence will be the Secretary of District Security and I would like to announce that it is under the leadership of Yes Turbay” said the president-elect.
“He is a good professional; we work together and we will do it strategically, talking to the public force, giving the necessary tools but demanding strong results for the peace of mind of all citizens . We will not rest until we achieve it” he added.
Char also confirmed the creation of the High Security Council.
“Yesid Turbay will be accompanied by three senior officers who will arrive in Barranquilla to build a large team for the security of the city” he declared.
“We will create the High Council for Security and its head will be the retired Major General, Julio Cesar González, who has more than 35 years of experience. Major General (RA) Mariano Botero Coy, who worked with us in the Metropolitan of Barranquilla and with extensive knowledge of the city and finally Colonel Tahir Rivera Suescún, key officer of the criminal investigation “he added.
The elected Mayor described it as “a great team for everyone’s safety”.
“Security is a task asked of us; we will fight against criminals by working with the Police and Prosecutor’s Office to quickly pursue the thieves” he pointed out.
“We will invest with Eduardo Verano in infrastructure, intelligence, motorcycles, cars, cameras and devices; we will give the Public Force what it needs to make Barranquilla and its Metropolitan Area safe territories” he added.
The elected president indicated that Barranquilla has a strong crime observatory and together with justice operators we will design crime control and criminal prosecution interventions.
“The bandits are not easy! Together with the Police and private security companies we will create a strategy to continuously monitor important points to guarantee the protection of citizens. With the community we must work together; zero drugs in schools and parks, we will also look. to increase Police inspections and that they provide 24-hour service to provide peace of mind” he declared.
“Safety belongs to everyone. Preventing conflict situations is the key. We will continue to support the program of coexistence managers in the community, offering opportunities, training, entrepreneurship and educational programs “he added.
Char assured that this is the roadmap that he is working with Governor-elect Eduardo Verano, where he will join forces and resources to strategically solve the problem that afflicts us.
