During his trial, Bilota took the stand and testified that Barnes’ murder was underway. Self Defense Bilota reportedly took the knife after he said he was using it to cut marijuana, reported WFTV,

Prosecutors said that Bilota’s version of events did not agree and was challenged by witness testimony. He later tweeted that “the motive was revenge for the theft of the PlayStation, not self-defense as Bilota claimed.”
