Zeppelin has been supplying a project company in the US for many years. This was announced by the Managing Director Breuer on Thursday. It brings high revenue for the company.
At the Zeppelin NT’s 25 Years Celebration in Friedrichshafen, Zeppelin boss Eckhard Breuer announced that his company had been supplying the project company “LTA Research and Exploration” in the United States for seven years. So far, the client has not allowed any reporting in the US, but has now gone public itself, explained Zeppelin boss Eckhard Breuer in an interview with SWR. According to Breuer, the Zeppelin Luftschifftechnik supplies engineering services and components to the United States, including a passenger gondola.
CEO Eckhard Breuer in an interview with SWR:
The aim is to build a rigid airship similar to the historic Zeppelin in Germany, which Breuer says was built until 1939. It will be 120 meters long, the cage structure will be made of carbon fiber and titanium. Aluminum was used in Germany at the time, says Breuer.
“Really a great project for us.”
High turnover for Zeppelin in Friedrichshafen
In the United States, this customer accounted for half of Zeppelin Luftschifftechnik’s sales last year, according to managing director Breuer. It is not yet known when the rigid airship will take off. However, he believes that the first attempt at hovering will be made in a few months.

Zeppelin also announced on Thursday that a third airship is to be laid at Essen/Mulheim Airport in the spring of 2024. This will make sightseeing possible in North Rhine-Westphalia. The other two airships remain on Lake Constance, as announced by the Zeppelin Luftschifftechnik. The German Zeppelin shipping company had already announced in May that it would build another airship due to high demand.
