During the day dedicated to the Endowment of the Military Community Brigades for Education and Health (Bricomiles), construction materials were distributed to more than 45 educational institutions of indigenous communities in the state of Zulia to guarantee their recovery and the well-being of students.

The activity was carried out at the Octavio Hernández National High School in Maracaibo with the participation of Vice Minister of Education, Vicente Carvajal, Director of the Development Center for Well-Being for Indigenous Peoples, María Vanessa Prieto Moran. Bricomiles was immediately activated at the Octavio Hernandez National High School in Maracaibo Municipality, where they began rehabilitating the educational infrastructure.
In this institution, recovery includes: cleaning sanitary rooms and electrical installations, carrying out masonry work, waterproofing roofs, painting walls and playgrounds, and weeding.
Bricomiles represent direct action of the government
Vice Minister of Education, Vicente Carvajal, stressed the importance of bricomiles being claimed in the process of transforming educational quality.
“Bricomiles represents hope and is integrated into the 1×10 work of good government, done together with our communities, including Indigenous peoples,” he said.
He stressed that under the administration of President Nicolás Maduro, education is a priority where the school is the epicenter, linked to regional management and intercultural education.
Mayor Luis Caldera acknowledged that the brigades do their job with enthusiasm and commitment. “They have had waterproof roofs, air-conditioned the courts, optimized sewage, repaired lighting, rehabilitated walls, eliminated leaks, cleaned up undergrowth and also painted the entire institution Has gone.”

Ana Karina Romero, spokesperson for the Yucapa people and director of the Center for the Development of Educational Quality of Libertad Parish, Machix de Perija municipality, accompanied Bricomiles in obtaining the materials, which include the schools in the Sierra de Perija.
